Will a 1954 cab/bed fit a 1950 frame??

Will a 1954 cab/bed fit a 1950 frame? The frame on my 54 is in fairly bad shape.
I just found a 1950 frame for sale and I'm not sure if it'll work or not.
Here's a cpl pics of the frame for sale.

It's not a straight swap but close. The rear of the early frame has a taller kickup over the axle requiring you to raise the bed floor or modify the frame. Seems like I had to slot some of the bed cross sill mounting holes too.

Yes, my 48 is actually on a 54 Frame.

As Chev 3600 said there are some differences that you will run into. The best thing is to set the rolling chassis side by side and make notes on the differences that might be an issue. A good frame and a bit of work trumps a bad frame any day though.

There are some differences the biggest being the brakes. The 54 uses Bendix design brakes while the 50 uses Huck design and the Bendix are self energizing while the Huck aren't.

Re: Will a 1954 cab/bed fit a 1950 frame??

Thanks for the help!!!
The current frame has been modified for the bed to sit flat.

After looking at different photos, reading specs on both, and just the overall shape the current frame is in, I don't think the current frame on the 54
is worth keeping.

Specs I found: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...esto/54129.htm
http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com...resto/5070.htm

It's been cut,

welded,

angle ironed to death,

just think I may be better off scrapping it.
