Sad to see this..

I work at a truck stop in Oregon, and this truck came in on a tow truck.. before you ask, no the guy did not survive. He was going well over 80-100 miles an hour around a tight road with lots of curves, and as you can tell, trees. They had to use the jaws of life to get the roof off, to remove the body.
You can tell there was a lot of money put into this vehicle, I didn't get a good look at the motor because I had to be quick with pics, but I was told the motor got around "520" horsepower. That alone is worth more than my truck. I am just shocked to see such a nice truck like this, and local, be totaled.
I know it's not a 60-66 pickup, but it was still a nice truck..

Re: Sad to see this..

I think that truck has been in classic trucks or similar magazine.

This is a sad reminder that we all need to be careful in these old rigs. They are not as safe as new vehicles.

Re: Sad to see this..

That's a sad story... But at least he died doing what he loved. One thing to remember when driving like that is that it could be your last time... When ever I screwed around in any vehicle I understood that. But now I'm married and my wife does NOT like the stuff I use to do. Not a bad thing when seeing thing like this. To bad he didn't have a cage, he might of walked a way.

I've been deep into the triple digits many times and thank God I am still around. I have way too much to live for now. I'm slow and steady and may not win the race but I will be there to finish
