WTB: Bedside Toolbox, door, and hardware

Might be a shot in the dark but i would like to add the bedside toolbox to my 71 build.

Let me know if you have anything to offer.

Also, anyone ever put a toolbox on the driver side bedside rather than the passenger side? I would think it would be more convenient on the driver side for the usefulness of it.

Thanks for any info you may have.

. . . .

You'll have to buy a 73 or newer if you want one on the driver's side !!! LOL

This one is a 75.

I would think it was first put on the curb side so people wouldn't get "run over" while using it . . .
then changed to the driver's side when someone in the main office said, "it will be more convenient there".

. . . .

Re: WTB: Bedside Toolbox, door, and hardware

I have a nice set up also, a bed side, a door and everything to go with it. $500.00 The door is 100% rust free, but the bedside has a few pin holes under the door area. The rest of the bedside is rust free

Re: WTB: Bedside Toolbox, door, and hardware

Here is mine, door with working lock and key, exellent trim, hangers and door limit arm. Hinges are good. One scratch and a small area of rust as shown in pics, easy fix to show quality. I have a bed side I could cut out the opening but the bottom is rusted and I am not including it in this deal at this time.
$400 shipped this side of the Mississippi, west coast a little more.

Re: WTB: Bedside Toolbox, door, and hardware

Still trying to figure out if anyone has put a toolbox on the driver side......

I do see that there is a notch in the back of the box that faces the rear of the truck. What does this provide clearance for? Spring hanger maybe?

Also, i cant tell if the bedside is symmetrical from the forward most side of the box to the rear most side of the box as to even allow the flange of the box to fit up to the driver side.....

it would be soooo much more convenient to do it over on the driver side.

I will take $350 plus actual shipping cost. If you are interested PM me your address and I will get us a quote.
As far as the bedside goes the area below the box would have to be rebuilt, you might want to try finding a better piece than what I have but I will work a seperate deal on that for you if you want. Basically you pay for my time to cut it off the truck and shipping...say $30 plus actual shipping cost.
Let me know.
I think you could mount this on the right side of the bed without too much trouble.
Here is a pic of the bedside (I have this door also for parts).
