WTB: Rear bumper brackets and auto tranny part

I need the rear bumper brackets for a 65 sport bumper and also need the auto trans linkage that pivots on the bracket riveted to the frame for the same year.

LT1 Burb

This is what I have. It was attached to a rear bumper that I bought. The left side brackets are bent a little as is the rock guard. The right side outer is good but the inner was cut off and no rock guard.

I decided to order some after market ones from Classic just to see how close they are. The metal on all the brackets was exactly the same guage as original as were the rock guards. The forms were just like original on all 4 brackets and also on the rock guards. The rock guards even had the 4 dimples just like original.

I mounted the straightened and rechromed bumper with no problems at all. All in all I was very pleased with the fit, form and function. This comes from someone who has not had much good luck with after market metal goods.

I believe this is the linkage piece that you are looking for, also have the bar that goes to the column. They came off our 66, should fit yours too???

Re: WTB: Rear bumper brackets and auto tranny part

What is a "sport bumper"?
There's a '65 short/wide truck at the local junyard that I'm pretty sure has the rear bumper brackets. Don't know if it has those covers.. I've got one in excellent condition, its mate could be bought new if it isn't on the truck in the yard.
Give me a call at (706) 424-5035

The sport bumper is like the one on Dean's red truck pictured above.
