Hello there

Hey everybody my name is Chris and I have a short story about my truck. The truck is a 1959 GMC 100 with step side and large back window. The truck was purchased new from my grandmothers father we still have all the original paper work and such. The truck was a work truck in the Mississippi delta primarily in cotton fields. As the years past it became my grandfathers truck when he worked in the cotton industry. While my dad was growing up he drove the truck. The years would go on and the truck sat being less reliable. I remember when I was growing up only getting to ride in it a few times. I had always loved the truck and was determined to get my grandparents to restore it.

Well back in 2004 they finally did but unfortunately they took the truck to some local 4x4 shop to restore. They did not exactly do the best of jobs and tried to get more money out of my grandparents. My dad stepped in and said stop working on it. Dad finally went and picked up the truck I could not as I was still finishing my last semester of college. The truck is finally down here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and ready to be finished. I do not know much about major restoration I own a Jeep TJ that I work on (which seems like all the time... ha). Fortunately we have a family friend that is one of those guys that is just mechanically gifted and has garage with seemingly everything. However unfortunately this family friend Jamie he was diagnosed with muscle disease and can not do hard labor and it is only going to get worse for him. So he is going to teach as much as he can and help me restore the GMC.

Now the plans for the truck it has already been messed with it has a 350 and a different frame so we have to go and see what needs to be repaired, replaced, etc... After all that the tentative plan is air bags, freshen up the motor with a nice cam, headers, intake, new carb, and whatever else it needs to get running. Pretty much a resto-mod type truck. Anyway I joined to look up ideas, parts, tips that sort of things. Here are some pictures of the truck when it was loaded up to take the shop this week.

Sorry for the long winded story I have tendency to write to much ha
