Torque converter question
I installed a stock 1995 Impala SS 5.7L with a 700r4, 3:42 rear end and my truck weighs 3200lbs. The donor car weighs 4200lbs
Not looking to race, just cruise around town, highways and sometimes step on the gas a bit too hard! What stall speed should I get? |

Re: Torque converter question
get a stock astro or blazer 4.3 torque converter. I sell them all the time, stock stall in that converter is 1999 stall ( so lets call it 2000 stall ) your stock v8 converter is 1500-1600 stall. Any questions just ask. jerald (superior torque converter)

Re: Torque converter question
Stall speed is measured with the driveshaft locked ("stalled") so it doesn't matter what the weight of the vehicle is. But lighter vehicles will start to roll at slightly lower rpm than heavier vehicles with the same stall converter and rear gear ratio. The difference isn't going to be huge with those weights, likely to be less than 300 rpm.
