Good metal polish for aluminum rims?

Bought a new bottle of blue magic metal polish, this new stuff is crap. I had a old old bottle of blue magic that worked pretty good. Had that strong ammonia smell too.

Im guessing most the stuff (mothers etc) at the local auto parts store is all water down crap for some EPA rules or something

25 years ago neverdull was good stuff too, it turned to a crappy product years ago also

Whats a good strong product out nowdays for polishing aluminum rims? I heard truckers like a product, called zepher pro 40

.

Re: Good metal polish for aluminum rims?

I still use Mothers. I found that high speed cuts thru just about anything. I polished a set of older S10 Extreme rims that were real bad with corrosion and pitting from awesome NYS winters. I used a scotchbrite type pad on a 1/4" air angle grinder, that got rid of the clear that was left, also to smooth out the corrosion and curb scuffs. Wet sanded, progressed with finer paper. Then got a 4" polishing pad at Lowes, put it on a hand grinder with lots of Mothers, and looked like chrome afterwards. It's messy, but whole hell of a lot quicker and easier than doing it by hand. Started to do a set of valve covers for my big block but got lazy...

I like Blue Magic to cut through it, then Mothers for the final polishing. Seems to work good for me.

Busch Super Shine aluminum polish is not good, it is great! One of the best polishes I have used.
