Welp, it's been fun...

...but the time of the the 5.3 is over.

Well, the time of a carb'ed 5.3 is over. Drove it a couple hundred miles this weekend, and the POS got 12mpg

That's not gonna get the job done

So tonight I made the first step toward EFI...

Before..

During..

After...

My mom always had the best advice. It was just a tad late. After a fall that involved blood, she'd say....."Careful!"

Re: Welp, it's been fun...

I hope you are being realistic with your MPG expectations.

A 4x4 will not get 20mpg, but I would suspect with a 4speed trans and the right tuning, you could get 15 average.

Harness work is fun, isn't it? lol.

I pulled my entire harness apart to clean up and re-route on my jet boat swap. It was a decent amount of work, but the clean look after the fact was worth it.

15 is what I'm shooting for. That's what my cammed/stalled 6.0 in my ECSB gets, so a stock motor in a 4x4 should give me the same...hopefully

It was a blast. haha. But I can make it look the way I want to, and it saved me $500. Can't beat that.

Sure doesn't look like $600+ of parts!

Still waiting for my sending units, fuel line stuff, and that should be about it. Hopefully.
