Has anyone found a rear coil spring to replace the original ones that is softer. Mine rides like a brick and i think if I think a softer spring in the rear would soften it up a bit. Maybe something that can be found at the junk yard from a car with the same type of rear suspension??? it would need to be the stock height or a little taller.

well if you want taller then your probably SOL because that would indicate a larger and tougher spring for most intensive purposes.
If your springs are old and saggin' and worn then it'll ride pretty rough.. get some new springs and shocks... you'd be suprised at the difference it can make.
On my 3/4 the ride got much better just from shocks.. i'm putting new springs in currently but the truck isn't moving at the moment

I know when I was researching springs for replacing my stock
height C-10 shortbed....Could find anything in the MOOG line
except Heavy Duty springs for the rear.
I found TRW sells a variable-rate spring....not sure if they will
soften the ride. The should be a bit softer until the truck is
loaded down. You dont happen to have an extra stiff shock
installed do you?

I wouldn't be suprised if you have the heavy duty springs in there...or HD shocks, these things ride quite nice.

The springs are pretty heavy duty. I should probably check out what is on some of the trucks at the junk yard and see if I have something HD or not.

I figured it out. I had too much air in the rear tires. This sounds stupid, but with these tires I had 20 psi and that was just too much. I dropped it down to 15 psi and it's as smooth at babies...
These are Sportsman 31x16.5x15.

Be carefull...remember the Ford Explorers all blowing out tires and flipping over?
That was partially due to the socker moms complaining of a harsh ride, so Ford told them to deflate to a certian PSI...without contacting the tire guys.
