Front Brake Line Relocation Issue
Installing this 4" Tuff Country Lift.
As usual, the worst part on any project is dealing with brake lines. The kit provides thin little "brackets that are supposed to move the flex line down. Sounds easy, but it this is the cheesiest riggin I've ever seen. I do not like to have to yank on my hard lines and it still looks like it will be short. What am I missing? |

Re: Front Brake Line Relocation Issue
In my opinion it's easier and looks cleaner just to buy extended brake lines. I got the Rough
Country lift for my '71 and I think the front lines were like $34 or something.

Re: Front Brake Line Relocation Issue
Go to your parts store and get fronts and rear for a 78 3/4 ton 2wd. The 2wd is important. If I remember the fronts are 26" long. It's what I used on my 72. I flex mine out and I've never had a prob. May the force be with you

Re: Front Brake Line Relocation Issue
I would upgrade to a DOT approved braided line extended to the correct length. I just ordered a complete set from Kore3... you can get a front pair for $52.50 or upgrade the rear as well... if they're old I would replace them anyway...

Re: Front Brake Line Relocation Issue
They worked for me just fine. I wrote down the measurements from when I measured them and the front was 23" and the rear was 17". I have a 72 swb with a 4" lift from superlift and 33x12.50s there is more than enough slack to flex it out. It's what I use and don't have any probs.

Re: Front Brake Line Relocation Issue
The C10 hoses work great! I couldn't believe it. Used an old U Bolt nut to hold them to the frame and bolted them on good. Worst part was bending the hard lines back inside the frame.
