8" FJ Cruiser Headlight Conversion 67-68

Testing the waters to see if there is any interest in our 8" headlight conversion. Were looking for feedback and what you guys would think would be a fair price. The kit will consist of Headlights, Headlight buckets, and necessary mounts.

in your other thread that truck has leds around the edge of the lights. Is that additional? Will they fit in these buckets or were those "extra" custom?

Re: 8" FJ Cruiser Headlight Conversion 67-68

They are a extra custom we had to take the headlights apart chrome the inside glue LEDS inside and relay them to work as a Park light and as a turn signal

What is the benefit of these lights over swapping to some Jeep composite lights? Is it just a "mine are bigger than yours" thing like wheels have become?

I'm more interested in the front bumper/roll pan set up you have. The lights look good though.

The kits will have new headlight buckets to fit the 8" lights, FJ headlights & Bulbs, Brackets and full instructions on how to install. We are waiting on the cost on the buckets and will post the price of the kit soon. Thanks for all the feed back

Are the FJ lights a OEM factory projector or HID set up?

Re: 8" FJ Cruiser Headlight Conversion 67-68

Projector headlight will look like this... nothing like an original headlight on our trucks... reflector is our style with it mirroring back to the chrome housing instead of the projector... with the projector style they have cutoffs, ours don't sooo if you put LEDs or hids in our reflector style... it is extremely bright for on coming traffic.. doesn't look sharp either... kind of like driving with your brights on...

I have a set of OEM Jeep Wrangler JK headlights that are going in my Blazer. With some slight trimming on the headlight bucket that holds the bulb, they go right in. They also have a cut-off so the light isn't shining into the air like you were talking about.

I got mine on ebay for $36... https://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-2018-O...rdt=true&rt=nc

I used Jeep Wrangler headlights in my '67 Panel Truck. I didn't have to do any modifications. Jeep JK Wrangler headlights are a direct bolt in swap for the old sealed beam headlights in our trucks. They even have the 3 lugs on the back for alignment and use the stock '67-'72 trim rings. The headlights have more dome to the lense than the originals. I went ahead and bought the headlight conversion pigtails for the swap too.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/13094045132...78.m1438.l2649

I bought both on e-Bay. Here are the actual pigtails I bought and the headlights I bought were from a private seller that changed his over to something different. They are in excellent condition. You have to be careful because there are a lot of look alikes. They do make exact replacements too but you have to watch, some of them come with bulbs and some don't. The easy way to tell the OEM's are by the back. I think the lights are the same from 2007-2015.

Have you considered Cibie headlamps? They are not projectors but near-stock appearing, excellent quality, better beam control than comparable Hellas etc etc etc..... Yes I like these lamps a lot and no I am not affiliated with them in any way. I have used them for many years. Direct plug-in, no mods needed, 60/55W H4 bulb gives you all the light you'll need or want, use relays of course.

Do you know why the replacements list right and left. Is something different about the pattern they project. I am looking at OEM replacements on Rock Auto. $48 each (including bulbs) and you would need the pigtail harness.

I don't know why they list them like that. I bought all three of my sets off of e-Bay when the Jeep owners replaced them with something different. I didn't pay any attention to right and left when I installed them and haven't noticed anything strange..... I will have to look at my other sets and see if they are marked L&R.
