Cool Suburban question

Does anybody know if the clamshell(tailgate sytle) and the barn door style utilize a rear valance that has the same shape. I realize they are different because of the need for lower hinge fixtures for the tailgate.

I am asking because I switched from barn doors to the clamshell version and could not get a rear valance with the hinge fixtures. I carefully reworked the barn door rear valance adding the correct hinge fixtures. Now with the tailgate in place there is a large difference between the tailgates lower profile and the profile of the top of the rear valance. The sides and top are near perfect but the top edge of the rear valance is 3/8 shy of mating to the tailgate.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

thanx

Re: Suburban question

I hope this shows what I am talking about. The ends of the gate are flush with the rear valance and fenders. The center of the gate overlaps the rear valance by 3/8 of an inch.Name: burb tailgate gap.jpg
