Suburban/truck car hauling...
I've been a member here for quite some time and I am always hearing about someone going to get a burb somewhere (and traveling empty one way).
It sure would be nice if we had a place to post, here on the forums, about someone who has space on their trailer. I just drove empty (1200) miles one way to Kingman AZ to pick up a Meyers Manx dune buggy. Would have been nice to haul someones 67-72 who needed it dropped off. I do not make a living doing this, hobby only. A couple of weeks ago I needed a burb brought down here to Texas from Colorado. Thoughts? |

Props to you 57NAPCO for thinking of your fellow board members!
There used to be a specific area for which you speak but, unfortunately, it wasn't used much so it went away. Liz explains the issue better in a similar thread ... Quote:
Sooo...post your transport offers or needs in the relevant regional area or in General Discussion (not both)...

Re: Suburban/truck car hauling...
Like many things we wish to engage in, getting it in front of a potential user is the key.
If it were a sticky in the sub forums I look at, say this one I'm sure it would be used...at least by me. There are so many good areas on this web site that I never have time to explore....but I understand the issue. Thank you for the best Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Suburban/truck car hauling...
I know a guy that was doing this with v-drive boats....He's a guy that knows a lot of people personally and/or is personally reccommended.....
The idea is good, but most of us are internet acquaintances only, which probably isnt enough basis for this much trust.... The cost of overland travel is high while towing 1+ tons on a trailer and sometimes makes certain deals "geographically undesireable"..... Kinda sucks! Anybody that will move a vehicle for less than $1/mile is working below cost. There are licensed/insured carriers that will quote this low, so FBN being any cheaper is just fantasy!
