Maybe there is a way around this. Why do you need this specific one?

Re: Wanted: 91 model NP205 vss
I have one. I didn't realize they were that hard to find and hadn't thought about selling it. It's still attached to the Turbo 400 transmission. I bought a 1991 4x4 3/4 ton Suburban to use the drivetrain in my truck, but my project changed directions and I haven't used it. I imagine the shipping on that would be a killer, but if you can't find one closer let me know and maybe we can work something out.

Re: Wanted: 91 model NP205 vss
In 1991 GM went from a cable speedo to full electric speedo. That year ONLY in a OBS 1 ton, either crew cab or cab/chassis, it came with a NP205 with said VSS. I've been doing trucks and junkyard'n for years and only ever came across one, that was a truck for sale...

Re: Wanted: 91 model NP205 vss
Again guys... I know they are hard to find, BUT they are out there. Just missed a 4l80/205 combo for 500.00. Not bad of a deal but I was too late to the punch. That's why I posted a want add here was to see if anyone on the board knew or had one, not to here I need deep pockets or ill never find one. Trust me, try finding a certain muscle car carburetor that is #'s, year, vehicle, motor/tranny, and a/c or not specific. That is a rare needle in a haystack. But they DO come up for sale now and then. So thx for the comments and if you are one that has or know of one, just send me a pm. I knew of the cc and cab n chassis, but I didn't think the suburban had the 205 in it? I think b454rat is right on that. I have read multiple threads on a tailshaft conversion but ill try my luck and keep searching. Again, thanks everyone!!!!!!

Re: Wanted: 91 model NP205 vss
They didn't come in burbs, only 1 tons, only 1991. I guess it's not too hard to make one. The parts are stupid easy to find, even S-10s share the same parts. Just need to drill a hole and machine a flat spot for the sensor to sit. Supposedly there was a company that was gonna start making the tailhousing, but that's been a couple years, so not sure if it ever came out. Maybe check Off Road Design, or evilbay, stuff always seem to pop on there.

Re: Wanted: 91 model NP205 vss
Just a comment on what's been said,I thought the reason for the VSS was because of the 4L80E and that's "why" the electronic speedo. As far as the '91 Suburban with TH400/NP241,did '91s even come with TH400s? I thought in '91 the 4L80E replaced the TH400.
On the original topic of the thread,I'll keep my eyes open for that rare bird you seek. That's what playing with this stuff is all about. We dream up exactly what we want to build using the best of what's out there, often in combinations not offered by the factory. When you put all that together you really have something. Something no one else has. It's the best thing about all this, how hard it is,the hunt, and all that just makes it more of a challenge to keep everybody and their brother from doing the same. That's what it's all about

Re: Wanted: 91 model NP205 vss
I've seen a couple 91 3/4 ton burbs and all had the 4l80 w/241. I guess in a 1 ton you could get a 400, but never seen a 91 1 ton, other than 2wd.
