Re: Pre runner pic I found on cl

I think that's pretty cool, if I had the right terrain around here I would make my 66 into a pre-runner.

Re: Pre runner pic I found on cl

Looks like it could be Frank Turbens old pre runner. I crewed for him some, and it looks really familliar.

Check out this page for some vintage race videos. The Armstrong video was the era that I was involved.

The truck looked really familiar to me too! There is a red one that used to run around Phoenix as well

Don't know about the red one but there is a yellow one I keep seeing in the area of 24 Street & Osborn that looks similar

Well I'm a transplant so I don't know which roads you are talking about? These legal dirt roads to go on?
I sometimes go to Holister Hills offroad park with a baja bug, more of a slow offroad ride there tho.

Re: Pre runner pic I found on cl

I cross posted this truck into my Prerunner picture archive thread. This truck is setup similar/exactly like the early pictures I have in that thread.

Re: Pre runner pic I found on cl

Did the tire get cut or cut pooped off the rim? Your braver than me, I've never had anything I felt would get more than ten feet at hollister after its been raining.

Bad ass.

I've toyed with the thought of building a prerunner square for a few years now.

It got cut big time on a tree root in a tight trail, paying too much attention to not getting more body damage, the tire slipped off a ledge and caught the root and sliced it like butter. It's not too bad out in the wet! Just have to be careful on the snotty stuff so you don't end up off a hillside.

Re: Pre runner pic I found on cl

Tied the A arms together for less flex and less stress on the crossmember.
