rubber mat for truck bed

does anybody have one of those rubber bed truck mats? if so how are they? do they hold condensation under the mat and rust your bed out quicker or are they good to just protect the wood some what?

Re: rubber mat for truck bed

I can say with the utmost confidence that they are great for protecting your bed wood from wear, but will rot it out IN A HURRY if you don't pull it out to let the wood dry after a rain. Mine created a perfect environment for mold and destroyed a fairly nice original bed in no time. I consider me leaving that mat in there unchecked for a few months as one of my personal all-time dumb@ss moves.

what about those rubber mats you see with the bumps on the bottom so it can breath and ventilate? how well would that work for preventing rust?

From what I have seen, they still stay wet underneath.
