4 or 6 inch lift why did you choose

like it says why did you choose 1 or the other?benefits of each 1 pros and cons and so on and what kind and why did you choose 1 kind/maker over another?
oh what do you have it on and what year? Tire size also.... just getting ideas and unsure how hi i want to lift my 72 k20 pick up truck..

I choose a 4 inch for my 71. I just wanted a nice solid looking truck with 33's. I didn't want to get pulled over buy the cops either. Been there done that. To me a 4 inch lift is stock. lol. I put a 6 inch lift in my 79 because I wanted big. Also had a 3 inch body lift then took it out back to 6 inch. But as I 'm redoing it again I put a 4 inch in for the reasons above. Don't want to hassled anymore. As far as mods it was same on both. Driveshafts, brake lines, steering arm, e-brake. They are both shortbeds. I just really like the look of a 4 inch lift with 33's. They just have a nice look to them.

I went 4". Mainly to get the truck up to allow for larger tires without having an excessively tippy feeling in off camber situations. I put 35's on shortly after the lift and it suits my needs well. I also didn't want to deal with dealing with hiking my large tail into it when ever I wanted to drive it.

A 6" lift on my rig would have been overkill.

I have 6" in the suspension, 3" in the body, and 38x15.50's. I think the 6" suited my needs better, but I should have went 8 and ditched the body lift. It actually cleared the 38's with very minor trimming without the body lift. This is on an 83 K20.

I went with a 6" lift, as I'm running 35x12.5s and didn't want to trim yet. If I want to go larger, I'll either cut fenders or put in a 1" body lift.

Forgot to mention that the higher you go with a 67-72 the rear tire is closer to the forward wheel well opening and looks funny. Not sure why this happens but they all seem to do it.

4in suspension with a 3in body clearing 38.5s on not sure what exact wheel size but i won't ever go higher because its not needed

there was a 3" Body lift on my 72 gmc when i Bought it But it wouldn't clear 35's so i put in some new 4" softride springs. going to ditch the Body lift as soon as i can get a new set of Body mounts. i also have a 4" rough country with cut fenders on my 77 stepside running 38.5 Boggers.

I got a 6" suspension lift and 3" body on my '79 running 39.5" TSL swampers. Kinda wish it didn't have the body lift on it now but oh well. Someday might take it off and toss it away. I really like the way 6" lifts and 35"s look. Hows the truck going to be used hardcore wheeling or just moderate wheeling. I would figure out how its gonna be used then what size tires you want to run then look at lifts but that's me.

My 72 Blazer came to me with I believe is 4" front springs and rear blocks. I replaced the body mounts and added a 1" aluminum body lift blocks. I like that it helps clear hoses and exhaust near the frame and body. I wouldn't go more than a 1" body lift. The front springs will stay and I am replacing the rear lift blocks with a shackle flip kit from DIY4x. I like the DIY4x kit because it uses simple shackles that you can adjust the length, and in turn ride height. I had 33" tires on it and will be running 35's when done...

6 inch lift. chose it so the 35s would not rub. Still rub a bit due to the 2.5 inch backspace on my procomp 52 16x8 rims. Wouldn't change a thing so far!

4 inch (front spring and shackle flip rear) to keep a lowish center of gravity. I run 35s in the winter and will throw on 37s with trimming this spring. I also fit the burb's taller roof line in a standard garage which is a plus.

I also clocked my transfer case and tucked everything up for extra ground clearance.

Did new 52" springs in the front, and a shackle flip in the rear with 54's on my 70. I think its about 5".

Do you have pics of your set up? it's what mine will have once complete but rather 4" suspension and 2" body with 35" tires.

My rule is only go as high as you need to clear the tires you want to use. Unless you just like the look of lifted truck and it is only street driven, you want the center of mass to be as low as possible. It will handle better in turns, and will work better when offroading.
For these reasons I'm sticking with a 4" lift on my 66.
