Drum to Disk Brake Swap? 87-08
I have a 87 ton truck with drum brakes and have a 08 ton rearend with disk brakes. Will all the disk stuff bolt up to the 87 drum rearend?
I realize there will be brakeline and e-brake cable issues, but I am wanting to know if the 'hard parts' will bolt up. Thanks Eric |

I don't think it would work the 99 up trucks didn't have a 5 lug and i believe the 6 lug is different too.Look on the vendors on here a few sell a rear disc kit pretty cheap.

I the flange that bolts it to the axle housing is different im pretty sure

No, it will not bolt up the backing plates are not the same. I swapped the conplete rear axle from a 04 into my 73. just had to grind the spring pads off and reweld them in the new spot.

Also pretty sure the axles are exactly 3in wider or 1.5in on each side which for some reason people have a problem with but i can't tell the difference when i swapped out my semi floater for an 05 FF
