This is probably going to sound like a stupid question but how do you get an avatar by your name?

Up on the top toolbar there is a selection called User CP... Select that and then it will take you to a page to edit your profile settings and such... on the left side of the page you will see edit avatar. Select that and then you can choose to upload a picture.
