1975 alternator and starter wiring

I bought this truck with no motor or transmission. Most of the wires coming from the firewall have been cut. I just recently dropped in a 455 and a 400turbo and now I'm having trouble getting it all wired in. I have a diagram that shows all the wires coming from the block in the firewall but it isn't correct. Can anyone help me out here.

Welcome to the site. Does your wiring diagram match these http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/sm...c,11766.0.html ?

Re: 1975 alternator and starter wiring

This is for a 1976 but your 75 should be same, espcially for starter/alternator. I used this on my 1976 and had no issues. The wire colors on this chart match actual wire colors.

hope this helps

since you have a V8 this should be the ones you need, most will have their own connectors and length will determine placement so you shouldnt be able to get them crossed.

#8 bulkhead junction block = PINK/ distributor coil
#9 bulkhead junction block = dark blue/oil press sw behind distributor
#10 bulkhead junction block = brown/alternator
#11 bulkhead junction block = violet/starter ign small terminal
#12 bulkhead junction block = red /small upper firewall juinction block/starter/alternator (should split off internally in the harness)
#14 bulkhead junction block = DARK BLUE/windshield wiper motor connection
#15 bulkhead junction block = light blue/windshield wiper motor connection
#16 bulkhead junction block=yellow/windshield wiper motor connection
#17 bulkhead junction block=BLACK & WHITE STRIPE/windshield wiper motor connection
#18 bulkhead junction block=Green/water temp sending unit
