1950 chevy SBC water pump

Need help! Will a long water pump work with SBC on mi2 suspension, factory core with 3 core aluminum radiator, stock firewall? I have all new v belt aluminum pullys and mounts for long pump. Will I have to go short or will it fit no fan

I would have to say no, I have the long water pump and I had to go with an electric pusher fan I could probl use a puller if it was a really thin one.

Re: 1950 chevy SBC water pump

I have a '54 with a '78 Camaro clip, stock firewall, ZZ4 350 and a March serpentine belt system on a long water pump. I have a puller electric fan and shroud system that I got from the Sachse Rod shop. I have about 1/4 inch clearance between the waterpump pulley (without hub cover) and the back of the fan.

The waterpump that I am using is the stock standard rotation one. I also have power steering and a/c. I wanted to be able to walk into any parts store and get a std. small block waterpump.

The long waterpump can be done with a puller fan if you can get a really thin fan and shroud.

Good Luck.
