just picked up a set of rallies?

I just picked up a set of rallies 15x7 front and 15x8 rear. I like the idea of 255-70-15 all the way around. Will this look funny since the wheels are diff size? Any suggestions will help thanks. These are going on a 2wd 72 lwb.

Re: just picked up a set of rallies?

I would get a tire that was an inch narrower. Since the same width tire is going on a narrower rim it will look different. Now whether or not that is noticable I don't know.

A 230 75 15 will give you almost 1 inch less in width, and the sidewall height will be nearly the same.

Sidewall height on the 255/70 is 178.5. Sidewall height on the 230/75 is 172.5. That is a little less than a quarter of an inch difference.

Re: just picked up a set of rallies?

Thanks guys i just looked at the wheels again and the front are 6.5 not 7. I am thinking 235-70-15 front and 255-70-15. What do think about that?

I would go with all 4 tires the same. You have disc brakes up front being that it is a 72. Those 6.5s will tuck in perfectly up front and will look "even" with the back wheels

I am running 15x8 and 15x6.5 on DD with 255-70 and 225-70 and rear tires do look like they are stretch out and front are pulled in (just the opposite).

Next time on the front I think I will run 215-75 so they are more uniform to the rim.

Re: just picked up a set of rallies?

with the staggered wheel widths, it would seem you are going for a hot rod look(?)

if that's the case, I'd go 235/70/15 (or 225/75/15) up front and 265/70/15 out back.

if you aren't going for that look - - than get rid of 2 of the ralles (probably the 6.5s) and find matching size ones for the remaining two and put 255/70/15s all the way around. That is a good choice for all the same size.
