big honking welding gloves???

I am a big man, a big big man. I am 6.3 and 385-390# my ring size if I recall is a 18. My welding gloves that I have loved for years and taken the best care of them as I could now have burn through on almost all of the fingers. I have been patching them with masking tape that is not very protective. The company that I bought the last pair from has gone out of bussiness and the maker of them apperently has too. Anyone out there on the big side know where a man can get some big welding gloves? This one size fits all bs don't cut it. Jim

Re: big honking welding gloves???

Well, C, I found a place here in Arkansas that is called tough weld and they sell all kinds of work related gear, from head to teo. So I ordered a pair of BSX 2xl gloves and a pair of kevlar sleeves[ I think I will like those most when I'm grinding] and a 4x welding jacket. They said I would have them in 3 to 7 days but that does'nt help on this Z-71 that I have in the shop that needs the cab corner and rocker welded up on. Your idea is a really good one I'll look into that one in the morning, that other pair of gloves is'nt gonna do me any good. Thanks . Jim

Hugger, I've got a friend that stands 7'3" and welds/fabs a lot. I'll shoot him an email and see if he has any resources for you.

Edit 11/5/2012 Can't get a hold of him...oh well..

i found these cat glove in a mini mart one day and found they run pretty big
