Back to the dark side.....1965 GMC longie.
Last month I went to a Auto Swapmeet and purchased a very clean chrome GMC grill, upon purchasing the grill I said to myself "self now I need to buy me a GMC truck" lo and be hold, be careful what you ask for! Last Saturday while browsing Craig's list I found this truck that's a little different from my norm, but it was reasonable and the price was negotiable plus I was attracted to the red color and thought "Shop truck potential" or "Future shortie", if it should last so long, I think everyone knows my track record.

Re: Back to the dark side.....1965 GMC longie.
My wife buys me ties and then says we need to go buy me a suit to go with the tie.
That's what I thought of when you bought a grill, then bought a truck to go with it.

Bryan, if only you would have picked up the grill, I wouldn't be in this mess. Tell your wife "great minds think alike"

Great looking truck. I like the large factory mirrors, they are hard to find. That new grill will look great installed on it.

Re: Back to the dark side.....1965 GMC longie.
C/10 King,
You also will need to add the missing GMC letter frame brackets. (Black cross bar supports that hold have letter "float". Wish I had that grill. Will have mine chromed later.

The letters will definitely be going back on, after cruising in "Moe's 64" GMC a few months back, I've really have fallen for this front end!

Re: Back to the dark side.....1965 GMC longie.
A chrome grille in that condition is so hard to find, good for you. The truck looks incredibly straight and cancer free. Have fun!

Re: Back to the dark side.....1965 GMC longie.
Damn Rene! You always have a knack for finding the straight ones. I have no doubt that you'll give this one the "King" touch.
We know you just had to keep up with Gilbert.

Re: Back to the dark side.....1965 GMC longie.
Rene, I'll help you out I'll take that grill off your hands! Lol I actually passed on a really good freshly chromed bumper last month because I wasn't able to find a grill and I didn't want to chrome the one I had, since i would lole to go back and forth between black and chrome.

Re: Back to the dark side.....1965 GMC longie.
Great score! Points for putting the cart before the horse. I bought the orig GMC radio first, then my truck. LOL!
Sometimes the right one comes along and grabs you by the short hairs. You have to jump on it!
