58 with a LS2 with half throttle....

So this is my first LS swap and i have learned alot and i still don't now anything.......

Started with a 2007 trailblazer LS2 AWD....I tossed out the AWD and swapped a 4L80E and ordered a howell harness to run the 2007 trailblazer ECM and the 4L80E . So we had some harness issues nothing was labeled and some of the wires wee backwards but hey it happens. So we went in with HP Tuners and set up the engine to run.....we had topost for the tranny download which i am waiting for so it still thinks it's the AWD I guess.

But here is what happens so far...

It fires up and idles and runs awesome....But you have to roll onto the drive by wire throttle slowly and even then it shuts down at about half way. It actually does move but it's easy to tell it's not right just yet.

So....is it because the tune for the tranny hasn't been loaded yet ?

........Is it because something is wrong with the drive by pedal out of the trailblazer ?
.........Is it because something is wrong with the trailblazer drive by wire throttle ?
.........Is it because my sensor is to close to my air cleaner ?

.........Did i forget anything else ? It has enought fuel....the pump is working

I hope to load the HP tranny update tomorrow night and start there and see what happens...anyone else ever walk though this and point in a direction ?

sounds like a dbw issue. The wrong combo of tac and pedal will let you rev once and then shuts it down.

Re: 58 with a LS2 with half throttle....

Codes?

E67 ECM & T42 TCM....Correct? If so.....no TAC module to deal with

If the TCM is blank or has a mismatched OS....The ECM will not know whats going on, If your in gear, parked going down the freeway, or doing a burn out. So its going to try to protect the engine & trans.

Last time I checked, Getting a E67/T42 to run a 4L80E correctly will make you pull your hair out. Or atleast my tuner did.

Using a E38/T42 is real easy because you have a factory OS to work with.

I have the same combo in my 68, LS2/4L70E from 2007 TB SS two wheel drive though. Speartech did my harness and ecm/tcm, no problems except for tire smoke!

Re: 58 with a LS2 with half throttle....

Well .....i took awhile but after long last this is what my problem was. Turns out when they made my adapter....(.I am running a corvette intake on a trailblazer LS2 ) to clear the trailblazer alternator and water pump......and this part is really embarassing....the butterfly when it turned was hitting the 3" pipe. So I went and got a 4" to 3" tappered adapter and we cut it back to allow more room for it to turn. So the pedal was saying it was full throttle.....but mechanically it was only allowing it to open 1/3 of the way...and then the computer was shutting everything down.

I would love to see a picture of that set up you are using. May I ask why you didn't stay with the original intake?

Well the trailblazer intake was much higher then the corvette intake, and i wanted the extra clearance for the hood was the main reason. Also the corvette itake is just much cleaner looking
