Brown wire with white stripe on ignition switch?
can anyone tell me what the function of this wire is on a 66
with gauges in the dash (if that matters). mine is fried and currently disconnected but everything on the truck seems to work so i'm wondering what is the function of that wire? the wiring diagram shows it going to the generator and forward lamp harness. |

that one is for the alternator ..... or volatge regulator ,depending on what year you have...if you have a one wire alternator then you wont need it ....

like i said it's a 66. the original alternator had been replaced
with an internal regulator alternator. the regulator was still in place and so i replaced the alternator with the correct one. i have yet to hook it up (the wires) so i guess that brown wire with the white stripe would be the wire that energizes the alternator? |
