Emissions Delete, What is this ???
I am removing my emissions stuff on my 84 K10 with a 78 5.7L 350 motor in it. Can anybody tell me what this part is and do I need it? If not should I just cap off the vacuum ports? It sits back on the manifold in front of the dist.

There is a thermal vacuum switch on some trucks, but it usually is in the thermostat housing. If that is behind the carb, it is just a vacuum fitting. One port should have gone to the vacuum modulator on the transmision. If you don't need it, either replace it with a plug or cap them off.

i think some where but i dont think that one is. see no place for pig tails. think chevy did a duel perpose but not sure

I have the 700R4 tranny so it doesn't have a modulator. So I should just be able to cap it off. Thanks guys!!!

Don't just cap it off. Get a 1/4 NPT plug and do it right by removing the whole thing. No sense adding any place where future vacuum leaks could occur if the cap falls off.

The top goes to the trans, the other either goes to the vacuum ball for your heating system, or to the cruise control. On mine I have a cross fitting, one for all three.
