How much does it weigh?

There aren't any commercial scales close to me so I was hoping someone has done this already.

How much does a stock blazer weigh with a 350 in it?

And....how much does it weigh with a dana 60, 14 bolt rear and a 350 in it?

Just trying to get a close weight so I can get specs for a new cam.

Any help would be appreciated

Scott

Re: How much does it weigh?

The 14 bolt he has is 500lbs bare. Weighs more than the small block.

Yeah, you really realize that if you ever have to drop a transfer case (like I did last month).

My 72 4x4 blazer with a 6.0 and 4L60E swapped in, 33" tires on aluminum wheels, AC, PS, PB, single wall top, and with 20 gallons of gas weighed 4,760 lbs.

ok.. I have the 6.0 but a 4L80e/NP205 combo, D60 and 14bff with 35's. No AC but double wall top... guess I'll be over the 5K mark.... I wonded what the weight of a GMC Denail is (where the motor came from) in comparison...

Re: How much does it weigh?

I have a 1991 Suburban that has all the things on your list and it weighs in at about 3 tons empty. I'm thinking you almost have more weight in what you added than what's original. I'd say you are probably close to the weight of a Denali XL. The top on the old Blazers is probably heavier than an equivalent permanent steel top and air con is only a few hundred pounds if original, vintage air probably half that.

So yea I'd say you'd easily be at 5K or so.

Only way to know for sure is to stick it on a scale and see. Most every town has one, scrap yards especially. Slip a guy $20 and he'll let you pull it on there for a minute, that's what I do
