33's on 8" rallys

I've been running 33x12.5x15 tires on 8x15" rallys and they are just too wide for the wheels. Have seen where BFG has 33x 10.5x15 which probably will work. Does anyone know if there is another size that will work and still give me the same heigth. Don't know how the metric sizes compare.

Thanks

i think if you are rubbing then the 33x10.5 would be a world of difference.... oh you could just start cutting

I have 33x9.50x15 on my rally wheels. I like the tall skinny look on these wheels. I can't remember the brand, BFG or Goodyears.

BFG also makes a 33x9.5x15 in AT and MTs, I have a set of 33x9.5x15 Kelly Springfield ATs on stock 6" rims that are going on my 68.

i ran 35-12.5- 15s on 8 inch ralley wheels for years with no problems. kept them inflated to 35 p.s.i. and the wear pattern was perfect. i also have 33-12.5 -16.5s on a set of factory 16.5- 8.25 wheels and they too are wearing fine. you stated that the tires are too wide for the rims, are you positive you don't have a set of 7 inch ralley rims, they're not real common but i have seen a few sets over the years. by the way, i've always ran BFG mud terrains or BFG all terrains on my 8 inch rims.

Blazerman,

Question.........you say you've been running 9.50's on 6 inch rims? I went to the local tire joint and they said they wouldn't put anything bigger than LT 235x75x15's on my stock 6 inchers. You've had no problems with wear? That is the look I wanted but I'm getting hassled by the local tire stores about it.

gman, I havent driven the truck with the tires on it yet but there should be no problems, I have 33x12.50s on 8" rallys on the blazer and they are doing great. If you can run 12.50s on an 8" rim then 9.50s on a 6" rim should be even better. I'll post some pics when the board is fixed.

Here's a pic of the 33x9.50s next to the 33x12.50s on 8" rally wheels.

Question

BLAZERMAN,
is it an optical illusion or are those 33-9.50s really that much taller than the 33-12.50s ?

Jerry, no it's not an illusion, I didnt notice it till I put them side by side for a pic, the 33x12.50 arent worn either, they only have about 500 miles on them.
