"Cowboy" interior trim package?

I met this fellow who had a 78 Blazer with some interior trim on the door panels, looked like a silver border piece that went round the panel... anyway, It had a type of scroll work patern in it that had a slightly "Cowboy", or Western feel to it. He said it was factory. I presume this was one of the higher end trim packages available at the time but I dont know the proper name. Anyone know what in the hell I'm talking about? And furthermore, if you know of anyplace to get some of this silver cowboy trim, let me know!! Thanks!

It is kind of hard to see in the pics, but look here at the interior of my 77 Blazer..it has the trim you are referring to.

As far as a place to buy it, I do not think it is reproduced.

It sure does sounds like the scrolled trim surround on the door panels of my 78 C-10. It has the Silverado trim package. Catalogs like Golden State Parts and ChevyDuty lists these trim pieces but the picture is so small they don't reveal the the scroll work, but I think these reproductions are smooth though. You might give them a call and ask.

Yeah Jeff, that's it! You dont happen to know what type of trim package that is do you? Cheyenne? Silverado? I've got to get my hands on some of that stuff for my new Blazer (Just bought it yesterday) It's my second 73, and I'm sure not my last. Those pics of your New truck bring a tear of joy to my eye! That interior boy...

Rian,

If your Blazer is indeed a '78, then the trim you have is the "Cheyenne" package. The same scroll design, plus door pull straps, was also part of the Silverado package for pickups and Suburbans. However, the Silverado package was unavailable on the Blazer until the '80 model year.

Good luck finding what you need...

My 77 Blazer Chalet has the scrolled trim work. It has the Cheyenne trim package.
