another charging problem
I've got a 65 C10. My battery wont charge. It says around 11.5 at the battery and at the back of the alternator. On my second new alternator. Replaced the voltage regulator. Voltmeter in dash stays at half way whether truck is on or off. It drops when
accessories are on. All wires are good. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: another charging problem
Have you checked to see if you have a dead cell in the battery?
That is if it is a wet cell battery.

Re: another charging problem
Did you take the cables off the battery when you replaced the voltage reg? Has to be grounded before installing power to it.

Re: another charging problem
Thanks for the responses. It's fixed. I took an internal voltage regulated alternator, jumped the number 2 prong to the alternator positive post and ran a new wire to the battery.
