Mr. Gasket Carb Base Plate Installation?

I bought a Mr. Gasket Carburetor Adapter Kit from Checker Auto and on the back it says "ADAPTS SQUARE FLANGE CARBURETOR TO QUADRAJET SPREADBORE MANIFOLD"! That makes me believe I can use this to mount my Squarebore Edelbrock 1407 carb to my factory 454 Spreadbore intake manifold but the adapter looks like it's a Spreadbore to Squarebore! Can somebody set me straight?

Take the ugly end and point it down and the round 4 hole side up. Spray toilet water on it and install carb add fuel and be amazed at how easy it is to get to idle without hardly doing anything cause its a edelbrock

This is the one I bought, looks like pic #1 is the top which would make it an Spreadbore to Squarebore adapter, am I right?

Well that will turn your dual plane more into a single plane. While it will work, it still will not be worth any power over the quadrajet that you have already. The cast iron intake is like forcing asthma on your engine. Don't matter what you put on top of it the throat (intake) still wont flow.

the last pic is the way you need to put it on make sure your throttle blades clear ok. but its universal so just flip it for what ever your doing. just make sure to hold your studs in from the bottom before its mounted or you get to take it back off and try again lol

And spin some nuts on them so they don't fall into your engine..
