Follow-up to "Atypical Exhaust"...

I have found my "most likey" choice for the exhaust on my rig. As it stands, right now, I'll more than likely (about 90% set on this) be running chambered mufflers from the fine folk(s) at classicchambered. Short powersticks - after a lot of research and "ear" testing, allow for the main part of the sound I'm going for - and the actual muffler... well, that's going to be my secret for now.

I know there have been exhaust posts on routing the pipes, but what I'm going for is one of the 4 locations I marked off with my awesome MS Paint skills.

I will be dropping the truck and raising the bed floor substantially, so it's unlikely that I will have any issue running any of these combinations - I won't know until I get there, in other words.

What I'm looking for is "wow" factor, but not impractical.

Option 1) Roll Pan exit. Dual pipes, close together like Vettes and Vipers.

Option 2) L & R tailgate exit. Little more cutting than a roll pain exit, but bordering on impractical without good bezels/heat shields.

Option 3/4) Mid tailgate exit (above or below "GMC" logo) Twin pipe like Option 1, just how high or low the pipes actually exit at. I wouldn't think that would possibly affect the engine given my understanding of how pressure in an exhaust system works, but I don't claim to know it all.

BTW, I don't know who's truck this is, but I fell in love with her rear end.

It's really inspired me to follow suit.

It will probably be springtime when I start frenching the caddy lights in.
I will take pics or videos of the progress so everyone else can see how to do this. I am looking at the 94-99 Deville style because the follow the couture better and flow well with the bed.

I don't trust myself to do my own body work - I have minimal experience with it and while it might not be a really labor intensive job, I'd rather have her right the first time and spend a little extra than fix mistakes.

I'll save my skills for the stuff I know.

I always liked the Caddy style lights on trucks. Its a perfect fit.. The Vette style in the roll pan look more out of place to me.

Ironically, I hate Caddy tail lights. With all my heart and soul, I felt them to be over-used and didn't want to "go with the trend" in building this truck. But, a credit to whomever is the owner of the GMC I used in my original post, that truck changed my mind from "no way in hell" to "yes, unequivocally" at first sight.

It fits. I'll probably do something to hide the chrome trim (rattle can custom!), but I'm going to copy that design almost to the T. The body guy I spoke with feels certain that he can make a "spoiler" across the top of the tailgate to mirror the "buttress" coming off the bed rails.

If only my MS Paint skills could help...

Since it's lookin' a lot like a dual-pipe center exit at this point, I'm going to run it on the left side of the rollpan. I don't plan on running the rear factory bumper, but I will be adding in the customized equivalent of a reinforcement bar at the rear frame rails.

I'm installing these lights right now. Thanks 1Bad62Pro/Street for the LED link. I was looking for them and had no luck. With the stock lights the housing is too deep and would have to make it too wide to fit with stock wiring. Do you have a picture of what it looks like behind the LED lights & the wiring? Here's some pictures of part of my project. It's going to be a lot harder than I thought, but looks like it will be worth it.

This is the piece of metel that I plan to use to box in the tail light. After I cut the outside shape, I'll bend it. See how wide I have to make it?
