8" of lift is more than double one would need to clear 35's in the first place. Not many run that combo. Usually if somebody is running that much lift they would also be running 37-40" tires or bigger.

Re: Can I see 8" of lift with 35" tires?

I temporarily put my 35s on with 4" suspension and 2" body and the tires seemed to be fairly close and looked like they may rub. I'm not going to cut the wheel wells and I thought of installing add a leafs to get more clearance. I think the exta couple inches all around would give a nicer look. I'm not a fan of having not enough room around the tires... maybe I'll be ok when its all done, time will tell I guess.

Re: Can I see 8" of lift with 35" tires?

I'm only running 4" springs up front and a shackle flip out back with 35" tires on my K5. Mine doesn't rub on the rear of the front fender openings, turning or off road. The front corners did touch a little off road, but only a small cut cleared it. Yours with 4" lift and 2" body should clear 35's without cutting anything.

Re: Can I see 8" of lift with 35" tires?

6" lift is what is recommended for 35" tires by the people who make and sell lift kits. We're all different, but I don't like the look of more lift than necessary. For me the purpose of lifting a truck is to clear bigger tires and nothing more. It's about the tires, not the lift, for me.

Just depends on how wide of a wheel , with using a 12" or 14" wheel the more lift you need to turn .

8" is too much for 35s, unless running really wide wheels/tires. It'll look funny.

I can't say I've ever seen or heard of anybody running a 12-14" wide wheel on a 35" tire. Plus wheel backspacing makes a big difference as far as how a wheel/tire combo fits without rubbing.

Re: Can I see 8" of lift with 35" tires?

The backspacing and the width is a real key factor that many people overlook when describing lift vs tire size. I've got about 9 inches of lift and my wheels are out so wide that my fenders don't properly clear my 39 inch tires. It's fine for on-road use (which is about all I do so far), but at full lock I've only got about three inches of travel before I start rubbing.

But 8 inches of lift does sound a tad excessive for 35 inch tires.

Does Nevada have a law about how much tires can stick out past the fenders? You'd be major illegal here in WI.

yeah in between doing to body the lift and suspension i drove it with just the suspension, didnt look bad, they were worn down to 34s anyway so i never saw with a fresh 35 with alot of tread. i only did the body lift to clear the 38.5s, now im one ton swapping it, and gonna put 12 inch springs on, so i might just loose the body lift.

Re: Can I see 8" of lift with 35" tires?

riz some state laws say your tires can't stick out past the fender but if you have a 73 or newer truck bushwacker makes fender flares that will keep you legal. Also look up if you have a mudflap law or not some states do but they ain't hard to add if needed.
