My Project: 1967 Chevy C10 to K10 4x4 Conversion
Hey Guys! well, since me and my dad have been working on my truck for about 8 months now, and we are on the last stretch of the project, id like to give you guys a chance to look at what we have been doing! i am 16 and just got my permit and this truck was my dads daily driver when he was in high school, now its gonna be mine i will update you guys on newer stuff we do to it but right now i got tons of pics to show you guys!
Here is the first set of pics. The 4x4 frame we got from our local junkyard. we think its off a 1971 chevy k10. had a 6 cylinder with an automatic transmission. here we are taking the motor off the frame with our tractor.

The black GMC is a 72. It was my dad's best friends old truck. He let us take the 4 speed transmission and the transfer case out of it. Then the white truck is obviously the C10. has a 4 speed car transmission in it at the time. used to be three on the tree.

Here are the pics of the gmc on our car lift. then the 4 speed trans that came out of the gmc. we ended up putting the gmc back in the woods to it final resting place lol. Then there are the pics of cutting out the floor of the C10 for the 4 wheel drive hump. we cut the floor with a jig saw. then the leaf springs you see are a 2 inch suspension lift from tuff country. we also ordered shocks in the same order too.

Here are some pictures of the frame on the lift. we had to torch most of the old leaf springs off because of the rubber bushings seizing up. but here are some pics of the leaf springs on the frame. (note that the rear end is not in because the rear end that came with the frame was junk)

Re: My Project: 1967 Chevy C10 to K10 4x4 Conversion
this set of pics are when we made a patch in the frame. the metal where the patch is was very rusty. as you can see the patch fit great also there are some picks of the box off the truck as we take out the rear end. at first we thought we could use the C10 rear end on the frame, but it turned our to be too narrow. soo we took the guts out of the rear end from the C10 and put them in the rear end that came with the frame. (the gears are positive traction in the back)
