Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: This is interesting

It is very interesting. When stuff like this sits around all these years and never gets used,it's hard to actually "use". The $400 value is it sitting in a box unused. As soon as you use it it's a cool old empty box and a pretty neat accessory on your vehicle worth a small fraction. A year later you can tell people it was N.O.S. in the box last year and it only has a few miles on it. They'll just see a used part with a story

The state offers the same service via flashing lights and siren at about the same cost here in Ca.

Question Re: This is interesting

The product is just like a model car are anything else a person buy's. If u think it's cool then u buy it most of the time.

Seems funny how people on here can flip flop on so many things about these trucks. The purpose of this thread was of interest in the product because I had never seen one not to get personal opinions of it.
I wonder if anyone has had one in a vehicle before and can add anything to this. I would like to see some more info on it and learn a little about it.
Heck for all I know it could be a peice of crap in a old GM box the guy is wanting to make a quick buck on to some one who has no idea.

Well then you should have said that in your original post. I have no problem with opinions, everyone has one right??? I think you just got a little jumpy.

Back to the speed warning, it is cool. It is not GM, and not in a GM box. It is an aftermarket speed warning. IMO (there we go with opinions again! ) it would look cool on display as it is, but whoever buys it can sure put it in their car if they want.

Re: This is interesting

The title I thought was self-explanatory. " This is interesting"

Yes your right my mistake on the GM and Box.
But does anyone know about this.

Re: This is interesting

I didn't give an opinion. I agreed that it is interesting, then gave a general comment on how anything like this, being N.O.S.,has a high value but only if you keep it N.O.S. Once you use it the high value goes way because it is no longer N.O.S.,just like truck parts or model kits. In the first post you commented on the price. I think that led to opinions from others. Now that you've said what you want to discuss on it,I have only had vehicles with the factory speedminder and have never seen this brand. There my be some connection between this company and VDO,but this part is not VDO or it would say so. I wouldn't pay all that to try using it,I don't think. At least not from this seller's listing. What year is it from...1933?...1972?...all years in between? It would be nice to know if it's 40 years old or 80 years old. The factory one is a needle in the speedometer and there is no way to shut off the buzzer. You can't set it above 100 mph,at least not on a '63 Riviera. I had to listen to that thing when going over 100! . I thought it was a neat novelty, mostly. The only real use I found for it was cruising somewhere like Skyline Drive where you want to gander round, the speed limit is 40,lots of downhill grades, the car likes to roll, and Rangers like to collect money from tourists. For the most part it was pretty worthless. It never let me know I was going any faster than I already knew I was going.

And,Tom Vogel, that was funny as crap!

Re: This is interesting

He says it's made in the USA but has a close up pic of a "Germany" sticker on the knob? Maybe assembled in the USA with German parts? I find that part interesting.
