Replacing front suspension parts
I'm getting ready to replace ball joints etc on my 1964 c10 front suspension - Any words of wisdom - is there a systematic approach - Jut want to get off on the right foot

Buy quality parts for replacements (I bought all moog stuff), and a lot of patients..

Just 1 w-o-w: IF you plan to ever do something like add disc brakes, NOW is the time to do it--no need to waste $ on any parts you may not need later. Bet you can guess exactly how I learned this!

I bought complete new upper and lower control arms thru a local parts store here. mainly because I needed shaft and bushings, too. The cost was reasonable and very pleased.
No matter how you're going about it, my opinion is you should replace the shaft and bushings while it's apart, they are sure to be worn as well, and the cost is nominal once it's apart. |
