71 4X4, want to buy new springs...where?
I like to buy 4 new springs and shocks for a 71 Blazer. I'm thinking stock springs or maybe a 2 to 21/2 inch lift max. Where is the best place to buy em?
Thanks |

Re: 71 4X4, want to buy new springs...where?
I have been researching the same question for my 70 jimmy except 4" lift. Here is what I am looking at from Tuff Country. + FREE SHIPPING!
I have a question about the 52" rear springs is that the same measurment stock springs are? (I know I could go out and measure) Do they just bolt in? http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index....oducts_id=2347

Yes the rear springs are 52" and yes they will bolt in.

Re: 71 4X4, want to buy new springs...where?
I ended up going with the sky jacker soft ride springs, 4" front and 6" rear replacement springs to offset the weight of the top. Not too sure how the ride is going to be it's only a rolling chassis at the moment. I got a decent deal through truckaddons.com though.

i went with the tuff country e-z ride 4" springs with their shocks. not exactly a smooth ride but that wasn't a big concern of mine. so far i'd recommend them

I was thinking to do something similar but don't know enough about shocks. Which shocks would you choose and why?

Re: 71 4X4, want to buy new springs...where?
For shocks I prefer adjustables so I can somewhat taylor the ride quality. Run them on the blazer and have them adjusted to take alot of the "bone jar" out of the road bumps so it isn't such a kidney buster. With the stock springs it works okay but would be better suited for an aftermarket spring I believe.
If I could find springs that offer a softer ride and still keep the stock height I'd probably make the swap. Used to run "Old Man" springs in our jeeps and loved the ride they provided, but they don't make anything for the K5's that I could find unfortunately. |

If you just want a 2 inch lift, you can get the overload spring for the front and the extra leaf for the back. Mine came that way stock and I purchased the parts from LMC.

I got a 2 1/2" lift from these guys, I got 4 springs with no shocks for $792.00, and no shipping charge.

Re: 71 4X4, want to buy new springs...where?
The blazer sits level but it's a bare body with no drive train. I'll have to see how it sits when the drive train is in and the top is on. The tires in the pic are 29" and the axles are 1 ton. I'm not sure if I'm going to run 33' BFG's or 35's.
