Looking for a hard bed cover for a short wide.
I saw someone here talking about one of these but cannot find the thread. We are wanting a hard bed cover for our 68 swb. Not wanting a snap on vinyl one. Any info yould be appreciated. Thanks, Fred

Re: Looking for a hard bed cover for a short wide.
I have a Gaylord brand hard fiberglass tonneau on my CST. It is very well made and I like it a lot. Pricey though.....As I recall, around 900 bucks in 2003.

Re: Looking for a hard bed cover for a short wide.
Does that have a seperate frame, not with the snaps just screwed to the body? I might could work with something like that. Thanks, Fred.

Re: Looking for a hard bed cover for a short wide.
Yeah, Fred.
http://www.tekstyle-tonneau-cover.com/ It has four aluminum rails. The two on the sides are held on with their clamps and the corners fit together. No drilling. No scratching the truck. Mine has three "bows", but I can run it without them if I want...Except they say that if you get into snow or ????? the bows are a must. The cover unsnaps and rolls up behind the window like a cowboy's bedroll...But it secures with velcro instead of conchos I just run it all the time because the back rail lets the tailgate operat as normal. If I want to load her up with, say, a couch or something, the back rail over the tail gate "un-does" with a thumb screw on each side and pulls out. I'd really like one of those carbon-fiber sectioned electric ones. But, I gotta save some dough for paint.....And, a couple of grand for a fancy cover when I have this one (I think it was under $200 when I bought it a few years ago)???? Probably won't happen.
