White Painted Truck Side

I recently had my truck painted, all the same color. I have the bottom wide moulding, but not the upper... Ya think it would look odd if i painted the white side body without adding the upper moulding? Anyone have pics or done this?
If it came down to it, i'd rather remove the lower then add the upper, and still do the body side white. I realise this is a owners preferance, but maybe a few pics or "seen it done" can sway my thoughts

Re: White Painted Truck Side

You could cut it off with a pinstripe on top.

But if you have just the bottom molding, depending on color, I think white on the very bottom and roof with the bottom trim look pretty cool together.

Re: White Painted Truck Side

If you were not happy with the code 582 Special Two-Tone your truck had before, I can't really see you liking the 551 Conventional Two-Tone or the '71-72 462 Deluxe Two-Tone.
From your posting it sounded like you had never seen it in the stock Two-Tone paint.

But if you want to put the later scheme on your truck, adding the belt molding would probably make it look best.
Here are some pictures of a stock 462 truck and two without molding separations. Also your truck does have the D99 moldings found only on trucks that have the roof painted a different color than the primary.

Re: White Painted Truck Side

To me,doing the deluxe two-tone without the molding looks like the cheap way out. That's what GM did when they stopped using upper moldings and using tape to divide. Looks 10x cheap compared to the 73-80 moldings. By the time guys started repairing lower rust or just repainting those trucks most would just use the '80s lower "stickum" trim and it just looked cheap. The original trim makes it look right. two -tone divides the lines of the truck as much as the upper trim does. I like a stock well optioned truck in solid paint, factory two-tones,or like a base model...solid paint/no trim
