Picture Thread: Parts
Note: Do not turn any posts into for sale posts. All pictures within are intended for viewing pleasure only! Thanks
I've had this idea for a long time and I'm finally going ahead with it while it's on my mind. We all like pictures and we all like parts, right? I go to swap meets or anywhere I go and when I see a 67-72 part it stirs me up. I've had to sell some of my parts over the past five years and had to take pictures. I hate letting the parts go so bad that I don't think I'll ever delete the pictures. I'm funny like that. I have issues with "letting go" I guess . Once I delete pictures the part is really gone! There are rare parts, nice looking parts, not so nice looking, and even pictures of piles, stashes, truck loads, etc. I know others have parts pictures and others can go take pictures now that there's a place to show them. Many are as proud of their parts as I am,I know. It's just something to spark a little conversation, too. Most of us have stood round parts and talked parts from time to time. We go to junk yards for parts, but enjoy looking as much as buying what we need. I'll even look through the parts for sale board when I'm flat broke just to look at parts. What is it with parts?? I dunno, but here are some to start:

Re: Picture Thread: Parts
Now with digital cameras,I take pictures of parts just for a record (and so I can look at them w/o digging them out )

Here's something I bought years ago, just to sit on the shelf in my garage. Mis-matched all to hell, but I think it looks neat, and it's sitting in the seat of my '70 stepper.

Re: Picture Thread: Parts
Cool. Always neat to see what rare pieces people have come across over the years. I hate to sell parts because if I don't need it now, I may need it later, right??

Great idea Tim!! I love parts and have a small collection myself. Here are some nos side mirrors and a pair of 15x7 5 lug stock steel wheels that will accept poverty caps.

In the psychiatric world you would be considered a hoarder - a car/truck hoarder. Lots of us have this affliction. There is help out there.

Tim knows I could probably hog this thread but I will be on my best behavior and post conservatively... I think all pictures should be labeled so everyone knows what they actually are, and it will make a great reference for new members that are not familiar with these trucks... First picture is a complete dash hand throttle assembly. Second is GMC 1500 fender badges. Third is a Mid Continent Power Take Off knob. Fourth is a '60-'66 GMC horn button Fifth is misc. parts off of a GMC 7500 truck. If you notice in the picture of the GMC 7500 parts I acquired over at the local salvage yard, one of the locks is actually a lock delete, a very unusual item. LockDoc

And that's great idea to label what the parts are. I think that was one thought I had when thinking to do this before. It really sets off the hearth. My kind of decor. How does your wife like it?
