Darn it
While working on rewiring my Burb the other day I found this.
I hadn't noticed this cancerous rot before. Now I've got to figure out how to repair it. Has anyone else had to replace/repair this area before? Any suggestions? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Darn it
never seen that before, first I would find the cause of it and fix that ( maybe old/bad door seal?) then I would ask someone here that may have a junk truck the same year as yours that would cut this portion out.

Re: Darn it
I'd say the cause is a combo of aging door seals, and probably a hole or some rust in the a-pillar rain/drip rail. When I had my door seals out, and the rail off, water took pretty much the same path.
Personally I'd try to fab a patch, as getting that area cut out, and cut out of another truck the same way might prove a little difficult. Because of its location, I think some metal stock and a hammer/dolly could patch that in a few hours.
