Headlight & Wiper switch bezels - 2 different styles?

Hey guys,

I have been searching for an answer to this but havent been able to find anything.

My LMC catalog shows 2 styles. One is the common chrome bezel with 2 square holes in the recess. I have seen & held these in my hand on several occasions.

The other appears to have 4 notches in the raised outer ring, without the square holes. I have yet to even find a picture of this style. What determined how a truck was equipped?

Thanks in advance,
Shane

Sounds like you have seen both 67 and the 68-72 styles. The 67 is different from the others and the LMC catalog shows both.IIRC the switches themselves are the same.

PD,

Thanks for the heads up. Going from memory I believe the LMC cat shows that they are interchangable through all years, but doesnt specify what they are originally found on.

Take care,
Shane

Don't hold me to this but the differances are the 67 & 68 had a manual chock cable that mounted under the head light switch. After that went to auto chockes and no more cable. So the dash was redone with just head light and wipers.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Thanks Andy,

I know about the choke/wiper/headlight positioning through the years. I am putting together a 68 GMC and eliminating the choke. I was wondering about the differences in the bezel/nut that goes on after the dash panel is installed.

Also FYI the ones with manual choke, the choke is on the right & the headlight is upper right & wipers are lower right. I just tore them all out.

The only difference in the bezels is whether you want the choke cable or not. So if you are eliminating the choke and just want a bezel with headlight switch and wiper switch holes, you while have no problems.

Re: Headlight & Wiper switch bezels - 2 different styles?

No telling if the ones on my 68 are original or not, but the wiper switch bezel nut and the headlight switch bezel nut were different. One was "recessed" deeper on the front side of the nut as if to let the knob sit further down into the nut, otherwise they looked the same. Both had the square holes in the recess... Just throwing that out there, I know it's not the same situation the OP talked about, but may explain why they list different ones...

BUT, I don't think it made any difference which one I put where, as neither interfered with either knob, so I couldn't figure out why they are different...
