suburban rear bumper brackets
Anybody know if the rear bumper brackets for suburban and pickups are the same? I think the bumper itself is suburban only, right? Also, are the brackets the same for 60-66? thanks

Re: suburban rear bumper brackets
No, the rear brackets are specific to suburban and panels. Completely different from trucks.
Also, from what I know, there are 60-62 bumpers and brackets and 63-66 ones. The frame is a different width IIRC. It's not much different between them but enough they won't cross over from one to the other.

Re: suburban rear bumper brackets
The63-66 burb rear bumper bolts straight to the frame with no brackets, except the outer braces which are similar to the front bumper outer braces, but shorter.

Re: suburban rear bumper brackets
thanks. I've got an extra set of braces from a 64 sub I'll be putting up on the classified side, thought they were suburban only but I wasn't sure.

Re: suburban rear bumper brackets
Re-reading this, I want to make sure I've referenced the correct parts. I know the 63 & up bumpers bolt right to the frame, did not know there was ever a "bracket" for that, sounds like the earlier had some kind. No matter, that's not what I'm asking about. Reading the replies, what I am asking about is (apparently) referred to as "braces", not "brackets". I bought a rear 65 suburban bumper (known to be, I removed it from the original truck) which includes the outer "braces". I want to verify that these are different from the pickup trucks, and only 63-up. Sounds like it, but just to double check. thanks again.

Re: suburban rear bumper brackets
That is my understanding. The outer brackets/braces are '63-'66 burb/panel specific and are different than truck ones.
