cab and clip inspect

Hope this is posted in correct place...

I'm looking at a 1971 cab and front clip tomorrow. Is there any rust "trouble" spots i should look into? Any areas not common like rockers and floor boards.
P.S. i'm in Michigan if that matters at all?

Thanks.

Re: cab and clip inspect

Go underneath and look at the cab supports. Also the radiator support under the battery and the inner fender.

Inside the cab look at the area above the window.

It is obvious to look around the top of the windshield inside the cab, but be sure to check the firewall seams and inside the cowl vents if possible. Also the drip rail where the two pieces of cab come together and are covered with seam sealer and top corners round winshield.

Re: cab and clip inspect

Thanks for the info. I went and looked at it and it was way more solid than i expected...the front clip looked close to new and the interior was bare so inspection was really easy.

I might have scored a 1970 blazer on top of it. Owner might want to trade for my S10.
