89-68 frame swap

I can get a good deal on a running 89, I know this would take mods but would the chassis fit under a 68 body ?

Re: 89-68 frame swap

I personally think it would be more work than it would be work, because of the huge differences in the frames.
I think it would be easier to transfer the "drivetrain" from the '89 to the '68 frame.

Re: 89-68 frame swap

I agree

It will be far less work installing the engine and trans from the '89 into your '68. The '88 and up frames are greatly different than the '87 and earlier frames.

One thing to keep in mind when you switch frames, is the legal aspect of what you are wanting to do. The laws very from state to state, but that is something to check into beforehand. Here in Idaho, if you don't follow the legal guidelines and get caught, your vehicle can be confiscated and crushed.

Re: 89-68 frame swap

I`m not sure but is there any advantage with the 89 frame, I don`t really see it.
