Which steering wheel to use?
I have 4 to choose from, just scored the wooden one from craigslist for 5 bucks, its my favorite......

I am thinking the wood also, it just has more classic appeal to it. I can sell the two grant wheels and make some extra cha ching 4 parts......

The wood is pretty cool and retro,but I'd probably go with the 67/68 wheel.

I like the wood wheel also,they just scream classic but...you cannot go wrong with the oe wheel it will allways be the best looking imho

I like the 67/68 wheel.The wood is cool if that's the theme/era truck you're building.If so the wood wheel needs an adapter.I hope you got it with the wheel.

Sportin wood, in my old truck
Mine is a newer style flat (no dish), coated in urathane. The flat (no dish) keeps the wheel away from this old mans belly I have run several of the Cal Custom, or Superior '500" wheels, & like them. The horn /adaptor kit, will run you around 20 bones....I say go for it crazyL

I had a wood wheel like that. Came off my dads old Duster. Anyway, the AZ sun did 25 years of damage to it and it would splinter off and stick my hands haha. I would just fix up and repaint the 67/68 wheel. I think eastwood makes a repair kit now.

My vote is original. I made a comment to the wife about changing the wheel on the '68. She made me see the error of my ways. Namely by suggesting that I'd have to sleep in the "new wheel truck" if I did it.
......... I can't say I didn't consider her ultimatum for a bit.

I would go with wood wheel as well, I really like the original wheel styles but the large diameter just kills them for me. My truck had a factory 17" wheel and I replaced it with a 15 wheel that is wood,, then to have it fit the style of my truck i stained the wood black.

I redid this one a few weeks back and love it.
67 SS Chevelle wheel.  Driving down the road I can see all my gauges fine! I had the tilt up in the picture with it down all the gauges are in view. Before. Corvette wheel.

Well this is just my opinion of course ... I like the wood or original, either one of them restored would look great. As for the other two, I would rather clamp a vise grip to the steering shaft and use that over those wheels =) Course your opinion may vary.
