LMC , Brothers who ?

I tryed to do a search but it keeps locking up on me , so here's the question.

Of the one's I mentioned or others , who has the better sheetmetal parts ?
What about parts in general ? It seems brothers is a lot more money than LMC , so My thinking is they have something better or not. Anyone ?

I don't have any personal experience but most people say good things about Brothers. Personally, I've had good luck with Classic Parts of America. www.classicparts.com If you place an order use Promo Code STOVEBOLT and get 10 percent off your order.

I have only bought from LMC because I drive by their store atleast once a week, I can say the guys behind the counter seem great and the parts I have gotten have been great.

I bought my bed parts from southern kentucky truck parts, website is sokyclassics.com
there bed parts were woodall industries and really good stuff, i bought my smooth tailgate from LMC and had some fitment issue but nothing major, sometimes you get good aftermarket parts and sometimes you don't. just the luck of the draw

TABCO are made in USA and theyre near cleveland, ohio if you are into all day road trips. the only thing i dont see on their site is a full floorpan. china must hold the monopoly on those yet.

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

I tried Brother's, but had problems with them having stuff on back order. I buy most of my stuff from Classic Parts or LMC. I also bought a great inner passenger fender from "Partsgeeks", the price was good and the shipping was real reasonable.

I also bought a lot of stuff from a local person, but he went out of business a few years back.

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

I am close to Classic parts & LMC. I prefer Classic parts. A lot of LMC parts are just good for DD,s. They try to pass flex hoses for radiator hoses. I got a rad. o-flow hose & it was vacuum hose rolled up in a bag. The carpet I just put in my 56 is junk.

Not sure what LMC sold you but they sold me a hose that looks factory for my 69 no flex hose at all.

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

I've used both Classic Parts and sokyclassics for sheetmetal, no issues so far.

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

I've got a bunch of Brothers sheetmetal, looks like quality stuff. I've heard complaints about LMC sheetmetal, but they have some of the little things that are hard to find, and they are easy to deal with, in my experience. SoKy classics are great people selling quality parts, and Classic Parts might send you the wrong thing, but they go the extra mile to fix it.

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

Been buying my repop sheet metal from Top Banana (one of our vendors) with no regrets. You might want to check our "review" section, lots of bad reports on Brothers and LMC for that matter.

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

All of these guys have access to the same parts to sell us. Its how well do they know what they are selling and how much do they care about your happiness with the parts and sevice. I use Manes Truck Parts out of Odessa MO. Great service, Great parts and they wont sell you something that is crap. If he has it or can get it he gets my business.

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

Definitely go with one of the board vendors. It's important to know who manufacturers your replacement sheetmetal. GMCPauls, Classic Heartbeat, Top Banana and other vendors here know exactly what they're selling. The parts can be CAPA certified, etc.

For example, there are decent rockers made by Key Parts, and there are REALLY crappy ones made by others. I recently used a rocker (in a pinch) that my buddy ordered from LMC, it was light gauge and crappy. I ordered the same exact rocker (supposedly) as a replacement from LMC and the Key Parts rocker showed up...nice quality, thicker, etc. Now why is the "same" rocker sold for the same price from the same vendor in two completely different qualities? That's their business...but you want somebody who knows what they're selling and why~!

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

I was not too happy with my front bed panel from LMC, but I've never ordered sheet metal from Brothers to compare. It seemed thinner than original and already has more dings and dents.

Re: LMC , Brothers who ?

My experience is with BB vendors only so here's my take. The vendors on the BB build trucks, most just go to their shelf and get the piece they need, since they do this, they generally carry only the best quality part they can get. Why?Because of 2 reasons,
1.They might be the one using that part
2.There's no profit in dealing with a dissatisfied customer so it's better to sell the the best quality part than to have to deal with problems from cheap crppy parts.
