WTT 71-72 CPP "new" casting drop spindles

I got these recently and I was going to swap it my ball joints and tie rods to make them fit my 68. Well I've decided to just try and trade them for a set of the 63-70 set of the "new" casting spindles made by CPP. These are the only spindles to pull the wheels in 3/4" and still use your stock brake components. I would like to trade straight across so let me know what you have. Thank you.

Re: WTT 71-72 CPP "new" casting drop spindles

The part number is CP4S3. They are the new castings. The old castings had the same part number but would push the wheels out farther. The pull them in to help with tire to fender clearance.

That's the crazy thing about CPP.
You know there is a shelf full of the "old design" still out there.
I would like to have a set of these, but don't know how to order them and guarantee I get the "new design".

I know and the only place that guarantees the "new" castings is Scott's I believe here on the forum. They want $230 plus shipping so about $275 shipped iirc. If I was to sell these I was thinking $250 shipped, would that be fair?

Re: WTT 71-72 CPP "new" casting drop spindles

Summit Racing gets $298.95 for the 73-87 version of the new design.
So Scott's price is cheap.
The only way to know is the new version is called a 2" drop.
Old version is described as a 2.5" drop.

Hey Keith I can't really say where I got these but it was direct from a CPP affiliate and they had them listed as 2 1/2" drop spindles. Donate you saying that these are only a 2" drop?

That's what CPP calls the drop on their Modular design.

Well after talking with Scotts their final price after shipping and tax is $298 so I think $250 shipped is a good deal. I'll you guys know if I don't work out a trade.

Yep.
That's the cheaper old design.
Standard 2.5" drop.
Non narrowing version.
The Modular version will always cost more.

That is one of the reasons why I wanted to trade, it would be a win win for me and the other person who wanted 71-72 spindles instead of 63-70 spindles.

That is really CPP's fault.
Designing a new spindle, and using the old part number, has to be the dumbest thing you could do.

Agreed, for what its worth these are paid for and I may just use them. I really don't want to "push" my wheels out when I upgrade to disc brakes.

Do some measuring before and after.
But I bet they still move out wider than the drum brake track width.

Well after doing the numbers it will be more cost effective to either trade or sell these. If they don't get traded in the next few days I will ask $250 shipped to those who asked. Thanks guys.
