Stepside tailgate latches? Hidden
Does anyone know who makes the stainless latches that do not have the knob on the inside of the tailgate? It's just a spring loaded pin in the tailgate and goes into what looks like a button head bolt on the side of the bed. All you do to open the tailgate is just pull. It's completely hidden. Thank you for your help.

Re: Stepside tailgate latches? Hidden
Might try Lowes / Home Depot/ local lumberyard.
There is a stainless set I've seen in many houses that use them on bedroom closet doors to push closed & pull open. Usually like a ball that's spring-loaded which goes into a socket with a ball-recess to "latch" the door closed. I've also seen them in brass. Wouldn't be a very strong latched-closed tho, I'd think. |

I know Mar-K has the hidden latches that you described I think for the regular zinc plated ones they are around $75 and the stainless is around $90 if I'm not mistaken.

Re: Stepside tailgate latches? Hidden
The ones I bought from mar-k had the "knob", I personally havent seen the spring loaded pressure release that you mentioned.

Re: Stepside tailgate latches? Hidden
The company who makes the latches also makes stainless hinges for the older trucks that have the catch built in so you don't have to use any straps of any kind. I seen this at a goodguys car show back in may. I just can not find my info that I brought home from the show.
